Honestly, our national anthem sucks. It needs to be about the nation being great, not about the flag in a battle we lost, in a war we don't remember.

Yeah, there isn’t much risk of the “Communist threat” anymore. Honestly, I always thought the pledge was a little silly. Like, why am I worshipping a freaking flag? I should be pledging to the country itself, not something that merely represents the country. That’s pledging with an extra step. (Bonus points if you get that vague reference)
